Basic West Chester Swim Lessons

Of all the sports or exercises that one would learn, probably one of the most important ones to learn would actually be swimming. The reason as to why swimming is extremely important to learn is that in the event that one would find himself in the sea and an accident would happen, he will have a big chance of survival. Now if one is interested in taking up some west chester swim lessons, here are some of the things he will be learning.

Now when one would start out his classes, he will first be learning the proper way to breathe in water. Now if one would want to breathe properly in the water, he has to forget about how he breathes on the surface. Now the way to breathe when in the water would be to of course take in oxygen with the nose and then breathe out with the mouth.

Now after learning how to breathe properly, the very next thing that one would have to learn would be how to float. Now this is probably the most important lesson of them all because if one does not know how to float, he will not be able to swim. Now in order to get the hang of floating, one has to tilt his body a little forward to balance himself.

Once one has already learned this forward position, he will be ready to learn his first move which is the gliding move. Now basically one will be pushing himself forward in order to glide through the pool like a fish. Now if one would want to do this, one has to use his feet to push his entire body forward.

Now when one has already learned the gliding move, then one should now learn the kicking move. Now this is one of the most important moves to learn because it is the best way for one to be able to propel himself forward. Now in order to do this, start out in a gliding position and start flapping both feet alternately.

After that, the very next thing that one would learn is the freestyle stroke. Basically, in order to do the freestyle stroke, one would need to use the kicking techniques that he learned earlier in order to move. The only difference here would now be to add a hand movement that would slice through the pool water in order to further propel forward.

Now after learning all of those moves, then the final move that he would have to learn would be the dog crawl. The dog crawl is one of the most crucial moves to learn because it is the easiest to do when one is swimming for his life. To execute it, one has to use his feet to kick the water while his hands are moving in a scooping down motion.

So as one can see, there are so many things that one will be learning when he takes up lessons. However, these moves are only a part of the tip of the iceberg as there are many more strokes to learn. He will be learning all the advanced strokes in the more advanced lessons.
